Produce
Develop and stage bold, accessible productions that combine artistic ambition with commercial thinking.

[About — Electric Press Productions]
Electric Press Productions exists to create exceptional theatre, nurture remarkable artists, and build the partnerships that allow culture to thrive beyond traditional centres of power. We believe world-class theatre should not be something people travel south to experience — it should be something communities are proud to call their own.
[Our Vision]

Our ambition reaches beyond producing individual shows.
We are working towards a future where theatre becomes a defining part of Yorkshire's cultural and economic identity — a place where performers, writers, composers, designers, technicians and producers can build lasting careers without feeling they have to leave home.
We believe great theatre grows from communities, long-term relationships and bold artistic ideas. Every production is one step towards that larger vision.
[What We Do]
Produce. Develop. Partner. The work we make, the artists we back, and the relationships that hold it all together.
Develop and stage bold, accessible productions that combine artistic ambition with commercial thinking.
Invest in emerging writers, performers and creative teams through meaningful opportunities and long-term collaboration.
Work alongside venues, heritage organisations, businesses and communities to create theatre that reaches wider audiences.
[Our Founders]

Co-Founder
Samantha Creswick is the co-founder of Electric Press Productions. A Cambridge graduate and Glynn Jones Scholar, her career spans strategy, technology and theatre, from leading Cambridge May Balls to helping scale holographic display pioneer VividQ as Chief of Staff. She brings a blend of commercial acumen and artistic ambition to Electric Press, driving its vision to create world-class theatre rooted in the North of England.

Co-Founder
Emily Lloyd is the co-founder of Electric Press Productions and a director, producer and theatre-maker with a passion for new writing and immersive performance. Trained at LIPA, Little Angel Theatre and Drama Studio London, she combines bold creative vision with a collaborative, performer-led approach. Her work includes the award-nominated production of The Mad Ones, and she is committed to creating theatre that is both innovative and deeply human.
[Our Values]
We believe audiences deserve work of the highest artistic quality.
Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity does not. We're determined to change that.
The strongest productions are built through trust, generosity and long-term collaboration.
We're not interested in one successful production. We're building an institution that will still matter decades from now.
[The Electric Press Name]
Our Co-Founders met at the Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers in Leeds at just 12 years old. A fast friendship developed based on mutual creativity & a shared desire to tell stories. In 2023 — over a decade after we first met — we founded a production company to keep telling those stories.
To this day, the Carriageworks Theatre operates out of the Electric Press Building, from where our business derives its name.
The Electric Press itself is a symbol of innovation & the democratisation of culture; enabling faster and more efficient production of printed materials during the industrial revolution.
In naming our business this way, we honour not only the genesis of our friendship, but our cultural roots as well. Most importantly, we affirm our commitment that the tenets of innovation & access will forever remain central to all that we do.
[Looking Forward]
We measure success not simply by standing ovations, but by the artists whose careers begin here, the audiences who discover a lifelong love of theatre, and the communities that come to see culture as part of everyday life.
Electric Press Productions is laying foundations. Every partnership, every production and every new audience moves us closer to a future where the North stands alongside the world's great theatrical centres — not in imitation, but with a voice entirely its own.
